Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (DEWA) selected Deloitte and a global team as consultants for the seventh phase of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park. This phase will add 1.6 GW of solar power and a 1 GW battery storage system. It became one of the largest solar-plus-storage projects under the independent power producer (IPP) model. Phased commissioning was planned between 2027 and 2029. The project aimed to exceed DEWA’s 5 GW target for the solar park by 2030. It aligned with Dubai’s Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and Net Zero Carbon Emissions Strategy 2050. The consortium provided guidance on regulations, tender processes, and financial structuring. Deloitte led investor outreach and global marketing. The expansion improved energy resilience and increased renewable energy use.
