US-based floating solar developer, D3Energy has started construction of a 6 MW floating solar array for the Village of Monroeville in Ohio. Once operational in early 2026, it will become the state’s largest floating solar installation and one of the largest in the U.S. The system is being installed on Monroeville’s reservoir, helping preserve more than 30 acres of land. D3Energy stated that the project will deliver over 7,500 MWh annually, powering about 700 homes and more than doubling the Village’s clean energy capacity. Under a long-term Power Purchase Agreement, the Village is purchasing electricity from Gardner Capital, which owns the project. D3Energy has partnered again with Gardner Capital and ARP Solar, the same team behind the Del-Co Water floating project in 2023, to complete the installation and connect it to the local distribution grid.
