Clean Power Alliance (CPA), a California-based public electricity provider, has commissioned and connected two large-scale solar-plus-storage projects in Southern California. The Rexford project in Tulare County, developed by AES, includes 300 MW of solar and 240 MW of storage under a 15-year PPA. In Riverside County, the Desert Quartzite project adds 300 MW of solar and 150 MW of storage, developed by EDF Renewables and Power Sustainable Energy Infrastructure under a 20-year agreement. Together, the projects supply electricity to approximately 270,000 homes and created around 950 construction jobs. CPA reported the Rexford facility will reduce 419 million pounds of emissions annually, while Desert Quartzite will cut 461 million pounds. The utility also plans to launch smaller rooftop solar installations on warehouse buildings later in 2025.
