Chaberton Energy, a Maryland-based renewable energy developer, and Italy-based Sunscape have sold two PV projects to Green Utility SpA, an Italian independent power producer. The Maestrale project (7.4 MW DC) is located near Bologna, while Ponente (1.3 MW DC) is situated near Bari. Both projects use bifacial modules and one-axis trackers and are connected to the medium-voltage grid. According to Green Utility SpA, the plants are expected to begin operations later in 2025 and generate 13.5 GWh annually. The output will supply power to around 5,000 homes and avoid 140,000 metric tons of CO₂ emissions over 30 years. Green Utility SpA has confirmed plans to build and operate both sites and is in discussions with Chaberton Energy and Sunscape for further collaboration on a 100 MW DC pipeline.
