UK-headquartered Cambridge Power has received planning permission to build the Cobholden Solar Farm near Staploe, Bedfordshire. The farm will generate up to 49.9 MW of electricity. The project also includes solar panels, infrastructure, and environmental improvements like planting trees, enhancing hedgerows, and creating wildflower areas, which will increase biodiversity by over 100%. Bedford Borough Council approved the plan after discussions with local residents and stakeholders. The company said the project takes environmental and community needs into account. Since 2019, Cambridge Power has received approval for 13 projects, with a total capacity of over 750 MW.
