Boviet Solar opens first PV module plant in North Carolina

The first US PV module factory in Greenville, North Carolina, was opened by Boviet Solar, with a $294 million investment and 2 GW capacity in Phase 1.

Boviet Solar has opened its first US PV module manufacturing facility in Greenville, North Carolina, with an investment of $294 million. Phase 1 established an annual production capacity of 2 GW of PV modules using PERC and n-type solar cell technologies. The Phase 2 is expected to begin operations in the second half of 2026, will add another 2 GW of PV cell manufacturing with an additional $100 million investment. The facility covers over 1 million square feet and is projected to create 1,310 jobs and support approximately 1,965 indirect jobs, totalling more than 3,200 positions.
