BNZ inaugurates 36 MW solar plant in Spain

BNZ, an independent power producer, has started its operations at its 36 MW facility in Moratalla, Murcia. The plant is projected to prevent the emission of 19,000 tons of CO2 equivalent annually, comparable to 6,780 round-trip flights between Murcia and Miami. This marks BNZ’s fifth solar plant in Spain. BNZ’s other projects include solar plants in Mérida and Cádiz, and the company aims to achieve a renewable energy portfolio exceeding 1.7 GW across Europe. During construction, BNZ partnered with 81 Spanish companies, creating local job opportunities. BNZ also supported an educational initiative in Moratalla to raise awareness about the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) among 750 students, introducing topics like sustainability and equality through gamified learning activities.
