Germany-based BELECTRIC, part of Elevion Group, will construct Eekerpolder, the Netherlands' largest solar farm, with a capacity of 189 MW. The project in Groningen will cover an area equivalent to 249 football fields. It will feature over 300,000 solar modules for Novar, a green energy developer. Construction is scheduled from February 2025 to May 2026. BELECTRIC will address challenges from clay and peat soils by customizing the substructure and using a triple-layer coated V-profile for stability. This will be the largest solar farm built by BELECTRIC in Europe. Upon completion, BELECTRIC will collaborate with Novar's O&M provider, Klaer, to manage operations and maintenance. The project will support the Netherlands' energy transition.
