BELECTRIC, headquartered in Germany, has been awarded the contract to build the Netherlands’ to be largest solar farm, Eekerpolder, with an installed capacity of 189 MW. Located in Groningen, the ground-mounted project spans an area equivalent to 249 football fields and requires over 300,000 solar modules. The project's construction will begin in February 2025 and will be concluded by May 2026. Developed for Novar, a green energy systems provider, the project addresses challenging clay and peat soils with a specially designed V-profile substructure featuring triple-layer coating. BELECTRIC will oversee operations and maintenance (O&M) in partnership with Klaer, Novar’s O&M provider, after commissioning. This marks BELECTRIC’s largest European project, reinforcing its position in ground-mounted PV systems.
