Sonnedix, a Madrid-headquartered renewable energy developer, have finished the 150 MW Covatillas 1, 5 and 6 Solar Park in Spain's Cuenca province in June 2025. The facility, constructed using more than 277,000 modules provided by China-based photovoltaic manufacturer Astronergy, was integrated into the national grid following construction and commissioning works. These modules will generate around 300,000 MWh of power per year, enough to supply around 71,000 households. The facility will also provides an estimation of over 108,000 tonnes of CO2 annually to the Spanish renewable portfolio. Environmental controls were in place during construction, such as wildlife protection suspensions, the preservation of heritage dry-stone walls, and the establishment of water points to nurture local ecosystems and wildlife.
