Arevon Energy, headquartered in the United States, has lately opened a local office in Murphysboro, Illinois, to support the 124 MW DC Big Muddy Solar Project in Jackson County. The office will serve as a community outreach center, with local representative Wanda Phillips available to provide updates and address public inquiries on the project’s development and construction. Previously known as Campbell Solar, the project was renamed after the Big Muddy River and features a logo inspired by the Big Muddy Monster. The project represents a $190 million private investment, expected to create 250 construction jobs and generate $12 million in property tax revenue, to support schools, roads, and infrastructure improvements in Jackson County. The company has stated that the facility will power over 14,000 Illinois homes annually, once operational.
