US-based Arena Renewables LLC has completed the transfer of six solar projects in Illinois, totaling 40 MW of capacity, to Summit Ridge Energy. This marks Arena’s first portfolio sale since its founding in July 2023. The projects, located in Ameren Illinois territory, are expected to reach commercial operation within a year and collectively supply electricity to over 5,000 homes annually, offsetting nearly 60,000 metric tons of CO₂ each year. Summit Ridge Energy plans to integrate the assets into its expanding Midwest portfolio, while Arena developed the projects to construction-ready status over an 18-month period. The deal supports Illinois’ energy goals and is intended to deliver local economic benefits.
