AMEA Power, a UAE-based energy firm, has started construction on a 50 MW solar plant in Bondoukou, Ivory Coast. According to the company, the facility is being financed $60 million by FMO and DEG and is expected to generate 85 GWh of electricity annually. The projectis anticipated to power 358,000 homes and offset over 52,000 tons of CO₂ emissions each year. The project is managed by AMEA Goutougo, AMEA Power's local subsidiary, and marks the company’s first operational solar asset in Ivory Coast. As per the company’s announcement, AMEA Power is also developing a second 50 MW solar project in the country.
