UAE-based ALTÉRRA has announced its first direct investment in the Global South, committing $100 million to Indian renewable energy company Evren. The funding is made through the ALTÉRRA Acceleration Fund alongside Brookfield and other investors. It will support the development of up to 11 GW portfolio of PV, wind, and battery storage projects. These assets are planned across Rajasthan and Andhra Pradesh, two states of India. The initiative supports India’s goal of reaching 500 GW of renewable energy by 2030 by linking new projects with infrastructure and local supply chains to meet rising power demand.
