Alpex Solar Limited, an India-based integrated solar energy manufacturer headquartered in Greater Noida, has announced an upgrade of its planned solar cell manufacturing facility at Kosi Kotwan to a 2.2 GW G12R TOPCon line. The company has decided to shift directly from its earlier phased PERC plan to a high-efficiency TOPCon setup, aligning the cell output with its 3.6 GW module capacity. According to Alpex Solar, the ₹136 crore additional investment required for the upgrade will be funded entirely through internal accruals to secure long-term profitability and avoid future upgrade disruptions. The first 1.4 GW phase is expected to become operational in Q1 FY 26–27, followed by 800 MW within six months, positioning Alpex Solar among the first Indian manufacturers to produce advanced G12R TOPCon cells.
