AES Corporation, a US-based energy company with 32.7 GW of operational capacity, has signed two long-term PPA with Meta to supply 650 MW of solar power. The projects are being developed in Texas and Kansas and are set to operate within the Southwest Power Pool (SPP) market to support Meta’s data center expansion and renewable energy targets. According to AES, the agreements are expected to create construction jobs and provide long-term tax revenue to local schools and counties. AES has 12.3 GW under signed PPAs and manages a renewable development pipeline of 65 GW globally. The company has signed 10.1 GW in agreements with hyperscale customers, including 7.7 GW dedicated to data center operations. AES was ranked by Bloomberg New Energy Finance among the top corporate clean energy suppliers for three consecutive years.
