ADNOC Distribution, headquartered in Abu Dhabi, has partnered with Emerge, a JV between Masdar and EDF Group, for the Phase 2 of its service stations solarization program. The second phase involves installing solar panels at over 100 service stations in Abu Dhabi, generating nearly 30 GWh of clean energy annually and avoiding more than 13,000 tons of CO₂ emissions. Phase 1 of the project is completed in Dubai, installing panels at 28 stations, generating 6,300 MWh and reducing 2,900 tons of CO₂ by 2024. Supported by a $1.5 billion sustainability-linked loan, ADNOC’s broader decarbonization efforts include AI tools for emissions reduction and biofuels for fleet vehicles. Emerge, with over 200 MW solar capacity developed in three years, provides turnkey solutions, enabling ADNOC to achieve its goal of a 25% carbon intensity reduction by 2030.
