ACME Solar Holdings, a Gurugram-based renewable energy developer, and Ceigall India, a Ludhiana-based infrastructure company, have won the Rewa Ultra Mega Solar auction. The facility comprises a 600 MW solar power plant with a 440 MW/440 MWh battery storage system at Morena Solar Park in Madhya Pradesh. ACME Solar Holdings secured 220 MW at a tariff of INR 2.76/kWh (~ $ 3.13c/kWh). Ceigall India has won 220 MW at a tariff of INR 2.70/kWh (~ $ 3.06c/kWh). These tariffs were the lowest recorded for firm and dispatchable renewable energy projects in India. Developers must design, build, operate, and maintain two 300 MW solar projects with integrated storage. The Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company will supply nighttime charging power and procure electricity for the state’s three distribution companies.
