Aboitiz Renewables Inc., the renewable energy arm of Aboitiz Power Corporation headquartered in Taguig, Philippines, has secured a ₱7.4-billion(~ $125.8 million) loan from the Bank of the Philippine Islands, a Makati-based financial services institution, through its wholly owned subsidiary AP Renewable Energy Corporation. The financing is,helpful to cover engineering, construction, operations, and maintenance of the 221 MWp Olongapo solar project in Zambales. The facility is already 95% complete and scheduled for testing and commissioning in the third quarter of 2025, according to Aboitiz Renewables. The project will connect to the Castillejos 230 kV substation and, upon completion, will become the largest solar facility of Aboitiz Renewables to date. As per the Energy Regulatory Commission, Aboitiz Power Corporation had a 23.86% share of national power generation capacity as of July 2025.
