Trinasolar, a solar technology manufacturer headquartered in China, has launched the Shield Extreme Climate Solution at the Smart Energy Conference held in Sydney. It combines reinforced PV modules with weather-adaptive tracking designed for extreme hail, wind, and snow conditions. The NED19RC.20 module uses 25% thicker glass and withstands hailstones up to 75 mm at 60 degrees. It also supports 2.2-meter uneven snow loads and features one-click snow removal via TrinaTracker. Wind protection includes tiered stow positions and load tolerance up to +8000Pa and -6000Pa. Trina’s smart control system integrates TCU, NCU, and AI-based SuperTrack to manage module orientation and protection in real time. The Shield Extreme Climate Solution is anticipated to reduce the LCOE by 2.84% through real-time optimisation and adaptive control. Trinasolar also introduced the 5 MWh Elementa 2 Pro battery with 15,000-cycle Trina Cells.
