Risen Energy has recently achieved 30.99% efficiency for HJT-perovskite tandem solar cells. Risen claims that the HJT-perovskite tandem design enhances conductivity with Indium Tin Oxide (ITO) and enables seamless integration of perovskite technology into existing HJT production lines for scalable adoption. Risen’s Hyper-Link interconnection technology supports low-temperature processing (<150°C) to protect perovskite materials and ensures stress-free lamination for thin-film integrity. Risen is also tackling durability challenges including UV exposure and humidity degradation, through nano-encapsulation and self-healing materials. However, Risen acknowledged that scaling of production remains a challenge due to the complexity in achieving uniform perovskite film deposition. By 2025, Risen aims to produce 740 W HJT modules with 26.8% efficiency and 800 W tandem prototypes, further planning to reach 850 W+ for perovskite tandem modules by 2027.
