LONGi, a China-based PV module manufacturer, has deployed over 10 GW of back contact (BC) solar modules across Europe. The deployment has been led by the Hi-MO 9 module, which offers 670 W output, 24.8% efficiency, and 8–10% higher energy yield due to its back contact architecture. According to LONGi, the module supports hybrid and smart grid systems. Over 580 MW of Hi-MO 9 modules have been installed in Southern Europe’s utility-scale projects. LONGi shipped 17 GW of BC modules globally in 2024, with 4.32 GW delivered in Q1 2025. Backed by a 20 GW order pipeline, LONGi is expanding its production and logistics operations to meet increasing demand for high-efficiency modules across the region. Post-Intersolar momentum has intensified demand for grid-compatible technologies, aligning with Europe’s infrastructure targets and policy focus on modernized energy systems.
