JinkoSolar, a China-based PV module manufacturer, has recentlysigned a module supply agreement with HuanTai Energy for the 100 MW Gobustan solar project in Azerbaijan. The project was awarded through an international tender and is the first of its kind in the country. According to JinkoSolar, its n-type TOPCon modules were selected for their strong performance in high temperatures, wind, sand, and saline conditions. These modules have up to 85% bifaciality, a temperature coefficient of -0.29%/°C, and are resistant to potential-induced degradation. As per JinkoSolar, the modules are expected to generate over 6% more energy annually in comparision with conventional panels. The facility is anticipated to produce 180 million kWh every year, power approximatly 50,000 households, and reduce carbon emissions by 146,500 tons, supporting Azerbaijan’s target of 30% renewable electricity by 2030.
