Gstar Subic, a Philippines-based solar manufacturer, has started operations by producing its first n-type high-efficiency module on May 12, 2025. The module has been built using 183.75 mm n-type cells in a 72-cell bifacial dual-glass design and delivers 595 W output with 23.03% efficiency. It has incorporated laser non-destructive scribing, SMBB, and high-density encapsulation to enhance performance in low-light and high-temperature conditions. Gstar Subic has stated that its production facility is equipped with automated smart lines that allow switching between module types while maintaining high output and low production cost. The first phase of development has included 1 GW of module capacity and 1.5 GW of cell capacity, while a second module phase of 2 GW is currently in progress. According to Gstar Subic, mass production is scheduled to begin on May 18, 2025.
