GameChange Solar's Genius Tracker racking system has been verified by Intertek for compatibility with 2,000 V (2 kV) operation and installed with 5 MW of 2 kV modules in the Southeastern U.S. Intertek’s UL 2703 evaluation confirmed no additional modifications were required for compliance. The transition from 1,500 V to 2,000 V alters system design by increasing voltage, which impacts electrical losses and system performance. This shift reduces material costs, affects power handling capacity, and influences the Levelized Cost of Energy (LCoE). With this pilot project commissioned, the adoption of 2 kV systems is expected to expand, impacting industry standards and future utility-scale solar projects.
