Friedrich GmbH, a solar infrastructure manufacturer based in Germany, has been nominated for The smarter E AWARD 2025 in the E-Mobility category for its URBANROOF system. According to Friedrich GmbH, the wooden canopy is designed for parking areas and includes a 4.2-meter clearance to allow access for high-roofed vehicles. The structure has been engineered with a minimal number of columns to reduce obstructions in parking bays and access roads. As per the company, URBANROOF delivers up to 5 kWp per parking space, with total system sizes ranging from 52 kWpto 200 kWp. While the system is mandated or subsidized in regions like Germany, France, and Austria, Friedrich GmbH said demand is also increasing independently. Winners will be announced on May 6, 2025, at Messe München in Germany.
