Enphase Energy, a California-based provider of solar and storage solutions, has launched the IQ Balcony Solar System in Germany. The system includes IQ8HC Microinverters, an IQ Balcony Gateway, IQ Cables, and an AC Power Cable, while solar panels and mounting hardware are sold separately. Enphase Energy has stated that the system is designed for plug-and-play installation, is scalable up to seven microinverters, and supports daytime off-grid use. The microinverters and gateway are weather-rated as IP67 and IP65, respectively, and the system is managed through the Enphase App with real-time panel-level monitoring. It is intended for balconies, patios, or compact outdoor spaces in both urban and remote areas. By the end of 2024, Germany has recorded 435,000 new balcony solar installations, raising the total to 780,000 systems, as demand was driven by regional subsidies and increasing interest in decentralized solar.
