DAS Solar, based in China, has launched its TOPCon 5.0 platform recently to enhance solar cell performance. According to DAS Solar, the cell reaches 27% efficiency, delivers over 670 W output, and keeps UV degradation below 1%. The design includes five innovations such as nano-contact metalation and hybrid edge passivation to improve conductivity and durability. The company has integrated the platform into its latest module designs. A four-terminal tandem module developed with China Three Gorges Group has achieved 25.4% efficiency in pilot deployment, while a two-terminal version reached 33.5% in lab testing. According to DAS Solar, collaborations with Zhejiang University, UNSW, and other partners were key to scaling TOPCon 5.0 from laboratory to production. The Institute for Solar Energy Research Hamelin (ISFH) has independently validated the platform’s performance.
