California-headquartered AirgainInc., has introduced Lighthouse SolarTM, a solar-powered Smart Network-Controlled Repeater (NCR) for 5G expansion. The system operates without the power grid. It provides a cost-effective alternative to traditional infrastructure. Field trials showed a 20% increase in 5G coverage. Speeds improved from 1 Mbps on 4G to over 250 Mbps, reaching peak speeds of 425 Mbps. The system improved spectrum efficiency by over 50%. It also enhanced data throughput in challenging areas. Deployment takes less than a day. This helps telecom carriers reduce costs. Airgain’s solution supports faster 5G rollouts. It improves user experience and ensures long-term cost savings. The company will present Lighthouse Solar at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona from March 3-6. Airgain will also join Omantel to discuss sustainable and smart 5G wireless solutions.
