China-based AIKO, in partnership with Futura Group Solar Construction SLR, has announced plans to build a 48 MW agrivoltaic solar plant in Serramanna, Sardinia. The project combines agriculture with renewable energy generation, supporting Italy's energy transition and innovative land use strategies. It will feature AIKO’s Stellar 1N+66 modules, delivering a power output of 655 W and over 24.2% efficiency. These modules have durability-enhancing designs, with degradation rates of ≤1% in the first year and ≤0.35% annually thereafter. "The low ground cover factor has reduced shading and backflow losses, ensuring reliable and consistent energy output," says AIKO. Futura Group is said to have selected AIKO for its advanced technology and proven expertise, aiming to maximize energy efficiency and minimize environmental impact.
