Palmetto, headquartered in Charleston, South Carolina, has announced WattShift as the first customer for its Virtual Power Plant (VPP) platform, following the launch of its Energy Intelligence API. The API provides building-level energy modelling to help utilities and developers enhance clean energy adoption. WattShift, which specializes in managing distributed energy resources like smart thermostats and home solar systems, will use the software to forecast household energy consumption, production, and storage during peak demand. This collaboration aims to improve load-shifting recommendations, reduce energy costs, and manage grid demand with minimal disruption to home comfort.
