JMK Research & Analytics, an India-based renewable energy market intelligence firm that analyzes capacity trends and generation performance, has released its Monthly Renewable Energy Update for September 2025. The report has indicated that India has added 25,264 MW of new solar capacity between January and August 2025, bringing the nation’s total renewable capacity to nearly 242.6 GW. In August alone, solar and wind installations were recorded at 4,654 MW, which was a 30.5% increase compared with July. Maharashtra, with 1,317 MW deployment, has topped the state-wise utility-scale additions, followed by Rajasthan with 782.5 MW and Gujarat with 645 MW capacity. In rooftop PV segment, Maharashtra's total additions increased to 341 MW, while Andhra Pradesh and Kerala added 206 MW and 70 MW capacity, respectively. Renewable generation in September totaled 23,686 million kWh, down 5.7% from August due to seasonal fluctuations, while solar generation rose by 0.1% and wind generation declined by 13%.
