Fremont, California-headquartered Enphase Energy, has expanded its virtual power plant (VPP) capabilities across Europe. The company enabled features such as one-minute data streaming, on-demand system maintenance access and remote solar curtailment to manage grid constraints. It also added integrated control of heat pumps and electric vehicle chargers through its IQ Energy Router. Over the past year, Enphase’s VPP deployments in Europe increased more than tenfold, connecting thousands of homes in the Netherlands, Germany, the UK, and Belgium to smart tariff programs. Partners like Kraken, NextEnergy, ison GmbH, and LichtBlick used Enphase’s API tools for real-time monitoring, automated energy steering, and AI-driven battery management. Enphase planned to extend these VPP features to additional European markets during 2025.
