Tata Power starts production at 4.3 GW solar plant

India’s Tata Power has started solar cell production at its 4.3 GW manufacturing facility in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu. TP Solar Ltd., a subsidiary of Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd. (TPREL), announced the commencement of commercial production from its 2 GW solar cell line, with plans to ramp up to the full 4.3 GW capacity over the next few months. The Tirunelveli plant, equipped with cutting-edge TOPCon and Mono Perc technology, supports high-efficiency production of solar cells and modules. Since October 2023, the facility has produced 1,250 MW of solar modules. In addition to this new plant, Tata Power also operates a world-class facility in Bengaluru with a capacity of 682 MW modules and 530 MW cells.
