TasRex advances the $500 million Northern Midlands Solar Farm in Tasmania moves forward with Hydro Tasmania signing key terms to purchase its energy output. The 288 MW solar farm, Tasmania’s largest, will power 70,000 homes while supporting local agriculture through sheep grazing. Scheduled for completion by 2027, the project is backed by TasRex, a Tasmanian renewable energy company, in partnership with Birdwood Energy. This milestone aligns with Tasmania’s goal of achieving 200% renewable energy and will provide local jobs while advancing the state’s clean energy future.
