Swift Current Energy successfully completed its 138 MW (DC) Harvest Gold Solar project in Sunflower County, Mississippi, with tax equity financing from PNC Bank. The solar farm now generates enough clean energy to power over 23,000 homes each year. Target Corporation is purchasing 100% of the energy and renewable energy credits from Harvest Gold, marking its second collaboration with Swift Current after the Castle Gap Wind project in Texas. The Harvest Gold Solar project is expected to cut CO2 emissions by 175,000 tons annually. The solar farm uses First Solar’s Series 7 modules and was built by engineering partner Moss, ensuring safety with over 270,000 person-hours logged. The project also features a new switching station developed with Entergy to connect it to the local grid.
