Estonia-based Sunly has commenced construction of a 224 MW solar park at Risti, Lääne County, with installation of the first solar panels. Expected to be operational by fall 2026, it will power approximately 55,000 households. The project has a total cost of €125 million (~$137 million) and is co-developed by Metsagrupp, an Estonia-based company specializing in renewable energy development. The Risti site will include 144 MW battery storage and plans for nine wind turbines. Sunly signed a 25-year agreement with the Lääne-Nigula municipality, sharing 0.6% of the park’s revenue, estimated at €75,000 (~$82,000) annually. The main contractor for the project is Connecto.
