Studer, an inverter specialist, has collaborated with Oiken, a local Distribution System Operator to develop VPP capabilities using Studer systems as DERs for the local Swiss grid. The VPP supports peak load electricity delivery, grid stability through ancillary services, and energy trading. This collaboration involves Icare Institute and Fondation TheArk to advance energy management in Valais, Switzerland. Studer emphasizes the importance of inverters, particularly with storage, for balancing the electrical system amidst increasing solar PV installations. Initial client testing will assess project viability, with results expected by early 2025.
