Europe’s top renewable energy producer Statkraft has signed a three-year PPA with Vitesco Technologies. Vitesco, an e-mobility solutions provider, will purchase 10,500 MWh of solar power and 17,300 MWh of wind power annually from Statkraft, totaling approximately 83,000 MWh, starting January 2024. This blend allows Vitesco to meet a substantial portion of its German sites’ electricity needs. Solar power originates from the Ihlenfeld Solar Park in Neuenkirchen, Mecklenburg, aiding long-term financing, while wind power is sourced from Ütze-Süd Wind Farm in Lower Saxony, ensuring economic viability through the PPA. Vitesco had already shifted to 100% renewable grid electricity by 2020, successfully eliminating Scope 2 emissions.
