US-based Standard Solar has acquired the 25 MW (DC) Windhub Solar B project from Balanced Rock Power (BRP), a US-based developer. Located in Kern County, California, this project will connect with the Windhub Substation to deliver clean energy to Southern California Edison. According to Standard Solar, the acquisition supports its strategy of securing high-quality, utility-scale solar projects in the 20 to 75 MW range. Occupying 160 acres in the Mojave area, with 112 acres dedicated to solar arrays, the site will also preserve a native Joshua Tree grove, aiding biodiversity. Construction of the project is scheduled to begin in the first half of 2025 and is expected to generate around 56,674 MWh annually, once operational. EOS Capital Advisors supported BRP as sell-side advisors in this acquisition.
