Saudi Arabia’s SPPC has signed PPAs for three solar PV projects totaling 1.7 GW under the National Renewable Energy Programme. The agreements involve SPIC and EDF for the 1 GW Al-Masa project in Hail and the 400 MW AlHunaykyah2 project in Madinah, with a combined investment of $850 million. Additionally, a Saudi French consortium of TotalEnergies and Aljomaih Energy secured a PPA for the 300 MW Rabigh2 project. These developments contribute to Saudi’s 2030 renewable energy targets, with all projects expected to reach financial close by 2025.
