Sonnedix, a global renewable energy producer, has initiated construction on its largest UK solar PV plant, known as the Cowley Complex. This facility boasts a capacity of 120 MW and is expected to be completed by Q3 2025. The project is projected to create over 100 green jobs in County Durham and provide renewable electricity to around 35,000 homes, reducing CO2 emissions by approximately 48,000 metric tons annually. The construction is funded through a €500 million loan facility secured in December 2023.
