Canada-based SolarBank Corporation has unveiled plans for the 3.7 MW (DC) Congress solar project in Seneca County, New York, supporting its development pipeline, which now exceeds 1 GW. As per SolarBank, the ground-mount project will advance community solar initiatives, enabling local residents to access renewable energy benefits without installing panels on their homes. The project is expected to qualify for incentives under New York State’s NY-Sun Program, administered by NYSERDA. Assuming a successful interconnection study, SolarBank will pursue permitting and financing. The project’s development is subject to regulatory approvals and financing arrangements. SolarBank acknowledges risks, including policy changes and construction challenges, but remains committed to delivering community solar solutions.
