Silfab Solar advances made-in-USA solar cell program with $5 M DOE award

Silfab Solar secures a $5 million grant from the U.S. Department of Energy to advance solar cell manufacturing in the U.S., supporting a $20 million initiative targeting high-efficiency back-contact N-type cells with 26% efficiency or higher. Utilizing a 300-MW pilot line at its South Carolina facility, Silfab drives cost-effective, high-volume production of premium PV modules. The expansion includes a new facility in South Carolina dedicated to solar cell and module production, with a focus on community engagement through workforce development and educational outreach under the Solar Energy Technologies Office program.
