US-based The American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) and the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) have partnered to develop standards for agrivoltaics.Agrivoltaics combines agriculture with solar energy production on the same land. The collaboration will merge ASABE’s expertise in agriculture with SEIA’s knowledge of solar and energy storage technologies. The goal is to create standards supporting sustainable land use and efficient project development. These standards will address challenges faced by landowners and developers in agrivoltaic projects. Initial efforts will focus on creating common terminology and definitions for the industry. Both organizations will consult their memberships to identify priority topics.
