Secure Solar Futures completed a 222 kW PV system at YMCA of Frederick County, Maryland, at no upfront cost. Under a 25-year service agreement, the company owns and operates the system, saving YMCA nearly $100,000 in electricity costs. The Natelli Y’s solar power, generated by 544 Jinko Solar panels, will avoid 2,997 metric tons of CO2 over 25 years. In its first year, it produces 294,200 kWh, covering 18% of the YMCA’s electricity needs. An electric vehicle charger by ChargePoint was also installed in the Natelli Family Y parking lot.
