SunSource Energy, a subsidiary of SHV Energy, received the ‘Solar Power Project of the Year – India’ award at the Asian Power Awards 2024 for its solar project in Lakshadweep. Developed for the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), this project includes an on-grid solar system with a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) across the islands of Kavaratti and Agatti, featuring a combined capacity of 1.7 MW solar power and 1.4 MWh battery storage. The initiative aims to reduce diesel consumption by up to 190 lakh liters and offset around 58,000 tons of CO2 emissions over its lifespan, generating significant commercial savings.
