Norway headquartered, Scatec ASA has signed a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) to deliver asolar and battery storage project in Egypt. The project, set to feature a 1 GW solar installation paired with a 100 MW/200 MWh battery storage system. To finance the initiative, Scatec has signed a mandate letter with several development financing institutions for concessional financing. The company expects to reach financial close and start construction by the first half of 2025. Scatec will be responsible for providing Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) services, as well as managing the project's operations and maintenance.
