India-based SAEL, a leading renewable energy player, has launched a 300 MW annual production line for Double Glass TOPCon solar panels, a recent technology in the Indian market. The advanced line uses European machinery from Ecoprogetti, ensuring precision in manufacturing. As per SAEL, the facility operates round-the-clock, producing 190–200 panels daily. Since 2011, SAEL has relied on Ecoprogetti’s systems under Rajen Shah’s leadership, navigating challenges like competition from Chinese imports. Unlike India’s prevalent glass-backsheet modules, SAEL emphasizes high-efficiency glass-glass panels, says SAEL. These products are aimed to cater to domestic demand and international markets in Europe, including the Netherlands and Norway. SAEL claims this initiative position it as a key player in India’s renewable energy landscape.
