Germany-based RWE has begun construction on a new utility-scale solar project in Deszczno, Poland’s Lubuskie voivodeship. The Borek solar project consists of three solar farms with capacities of 10 MW (AC), 10 MW (AC), and 4 MW (AC), totaling 24 MW (AC). According to RWE, the installation will feature approximately 40,000 PV panels and is expected to generate enough green electricity to power 10,500 Polish households annually. The project commissioning is scheduled for the second half of 2025. RWE, a major player in Poland’s renewable energy market, currently operates 541 MW of wind power and 54 MW (AC) of solar capacity, with over 100 MW (AC) of solar projects under construction in the Poland market.
